This 90-minute training was created for health care professionals who diagnose and treat tuberculosis.

In recent years a number of rapid molecular diagnostics for detecting tuberculosis as well as drug resistance have become available both commercially and in public health labs.  This webinar will describe the different NAATs (nucleic acid amplification tests) that are available to you, including the Gen-Probe MTD test, the Xpert MTB/RIF test, and Pyrosequencing (PSQ), as well as rapid molecular tests for drug resistance, including PSQ, line probe assays, and the CDC MDDR Service.  We will describe what NAATs can and cannot tell you and how to best use these tests for AFB smear positive and smear negative clinical specimens.  The webinar will also discuss the interpretation of specific mutations and drug resistance.

*CME and CE units are not being offered for this recording and there is no participant evaluation.
