Cost: There is no fee for this training.

Credit: This training is approved for up to 3.5 continuing education hours (see below). Certificates will be available approximately 12 weeks after the training.

• Pediatric evaluation; diagnosing TB in pediatrics
• Distinguishing between LTBI vs active TB disease
• Window prophylaxis; which regimen to use by age
• Strategies for pediatric treatment administration

Training Objectives (partial list):

By the end of this training, participants will be able to:

• explain the key differences in clinical presentation, infectiousness, and diagnosis (including interpretation of x-rays) in children versus adults to best evaluate and ensure timely diagnosis in this population
• state the differences in treatment of TB and LTBI in children to achieve optimum pediatric patient outcomes
• list techniques to make children's medication dosing more effective and implement these techniques in their pediatric patients

The Curry International Tuberculosis Center is approved as a provider of continuing education by the California State Board of Registered Nurses, Provider Number CEP 12308. This training is approved for up to 3.5 continuing education hours. Board requirements prevent us from offering CE credit to people who arrive more than 15 minutes after the start of the training, or leave the training early. Therefore, partial credit will not be awarded.
