These tools are primarily for urban TB programs wishing to improve secondary prevention of TB in those groups at highest risk of progression to TB disease, including the homeless, chemically dependent and mentally ill. TB control staff are able to:
- Understand the background and rationale for DOT of Latent TB Infection (LTBI)
- Learn about the San Francisco Tuberculosis Outreach and Prevention Program and other successful models
- Outline the essential components for a successful program with high completion rates
- Build a DOT team
- Build community collaboration
The materials include sample protocols, forms, and job descriptions.
